Tori Performance

Sunday artemis42 and I went down to CT to see Tori.

The opening person was ok...when he was soft he was a bit too emo for my tastes and then when he rocked out I couldn't understand what he was saying. But he did a little sing-a-long at the end that was cute.

After the opening, artemis and I ran into someone she knew from high school who was bartending...hurray for knowing the bartender :)

Then TORI. OMG! I'd never seen her in concert before. I remember thinking that this feeling of awe at her piano prowess must be how those seeing Motzart must have felt when they would see him perform. I knew alot of the songs that were being played, but instead of focusing on the lyrics, I just let the music wash over me. A lot of the time I was torn between closing my eyes and absorbing the sound and keeping them open to watch her, as she is electric on stage. At one point she brought her daughter's toy onstage...LA women *giggle* And when she played "Me and Bobby McGee" it almost made me cry because she was totally channeling Janis and I knew it would be the closest I'd ever get to seeing Janis on stage.
